Summer festivals are so much fun for so many reasons. The artists with their beautiful paintings and photography and sculptures, the crafters with their wood and jewelry and soap and fabric. There are the special exhibits -- student art, kids' activity tent, animals, featured talent -- along with the music and raffles and auctions. But something important has been left out of this list: the food.
Living in a small town like Sherburne means food choices are sometimes limited. This year at the 5th Annual Sherburne Arts Festival we're working hard to bring interesting food to Gaines Park to make the festival even more fun and inviting. Come on down to the park on June 11, visit the artist booths, get a free caricature from artist Jim Coon, listen to Rabbit in the Rye on stage, tour the SECS student tent and the very special exhibit honoring cartoonist Randy Glasbergen, examine a hedgehog up close and hold an owl on your arm, then sit yourself down in the food tent with something special from our 2016 food vendors ... or take a bag of food home for the family.
